The European Student Card (ESC) is not just a tool for simplifying access to services; it represents a broader vision of creating a connected and student-friendly Europe. The ESC-tension 2 project promotes the adoption of the ESC by universities and service providers, while also encouraging students to advocate for its use.
Students are realising the benefits of having an ESC-compatible student card, which enhances their mobility experience by providing easier access to housing, healthcare, and public transport services without excessive bureaucracy. However, widespread adoption of the ESC by universities is still a work in progress, preventing many students from fully enjoying these advantages.
This is where the ESC-tension 2 comes in, utilising the power of student advocacy. By educating themselves and speaking out through student associations or directly with university staff, students can play a crucial role in accelerating the adoption of the ESC at their institutions. Promoting the ESC ensures that every student has the opportunity to experience the promise of “one card, many benefits” offered by the ESC Initiative. This initiative also includes two pillars called “Erasmus+ App” and “Erasmus Without Paper”.
Remember, promoting the ESC is a collaborative effort among students, universities, and European institutions. Your voice as a student can significantly contribute to bringing the ESC to your campus and ensuring a smoother mobility experience for everyone.
